Cadillac Introduces the Upcoming 2026 LYRIQ-V
When it comes to the automotive industry, you cannot say the name Cadillac without it conjuring images of automotive luxury. Since the Cadillac V-Series began in 2003, any Cadillac V-Series model now draws up images of muscle, power, and performance. Now Cadillac has announced its merging of the Cadillac V-Series with the onslaught of Electric Vehicles (EVs) to be more competitive in the market. Beginning early in 2025, Cadillac will introduce the 2026 LYRIQ-V available in select markets in both the right-hand and left-hand drive models for the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand with more markets being announced at a later date. If you live in or near Poway, Chula Vista, or San Clemente, you can be a part of the release of the new 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ-V at Premier Cadillac of Carlsbad.
V-Series
Cadillac’s V-Series was introduced in 2003 to compete with other high-end names like the BMW M and Mercedes-AMG. The first ever V-Series model was released in 2004 with the Cadillac CTS-V, which became a highly successful model. The success of the first V-Series model set a new course for the next 10 years as Cadillac began to engineer newer and better versions of the V-Series.
The “V” in V-Series was a direct honorific, chosen to commemorate post-WW II Cadillac models that featured a V-shape (V for Victory) ornament below the signature crowned wreath logo of the time. V-Series models traditionally have a high-performance V8 engine, high-performance transmissions, revised suspension systems, revised aerodynamics, and more aggressive external body designs intended to capitalize on the more aerodynamic look and to set the V-Series models apart from normal production counterpart vehicles on the market.
LYRIQ-V
This new EV version of the V-Series moniker apprises a remarkable emergence of the luxury, performance, and innovation that Cadillac V-Series models have been known for since their debut two decades ago. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the V-Series, Cadillac’s performance sub-brand, which is a benchmark for performance and innovation for General Motors vehicles. V-Series EVs will be characterized by sensational performance, instant acceleration, competitive range, and all-wheel drive as standard.
LYRIQ-V’s design is such that the dual-motor system is expected to produce over 500 horsepower with an estimated electric range of over 300 miles. Exact specifications have not yet been announced, but certain deductions can be made because of the current LYRIQ models on the market which are known to have 500 horsepower already and a 307-mile range. Current LYRIQ models already have a 0-60 mph rating of under five seconds, so the new LYRIQ-V is expected to top the current specs. The LYRIQ-V is expected to merge some of the best engineering GM offers from gasoline-powered and diesel-powered vehicles into this latest EV SUV version with the standard set forth for luxury that Cadillac offers.
